Thuy-Lan Nguyen, OD., FAAO., FSLS. is currently the Chief of Cornea and Contact Lens Clinic, Chief of Contact Lens Primary Eye Care and Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from James Madison University in 1997. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2002 with a Doctor of Optometry Degree. She completed a Residency in Primary Care with Emphasis in Cornea and Contact Lenses at NSU in 2003. Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society. Dr. Nguyen volunteers with Vision Service Plan's mobile eye clinics and serves as VSP's State Ambassador for Florida.
Dr. Nguyen has lectured at Nova Southeastern University, SECO, Gold Cost Educational Retreat, the Miami Nice Conference, The Illinois Optometry Meeting, CE Wire, Palm Beach County Winter Seminar and Global Specialty Lens Symposium. Dr. Nguyen has authored posters on scleral and specialty contact lenses at the SECO, American Optometric Association, Global Specialty Lens Symposium and American Academy of Optometry. Her poster at Optometry's Meeting was awarded the 2016 High Impact Idea by the National Keratoconus Foundation. In 2020, her poster at Optometry's Meeting was selected as a Top 5 Poster. In 2014, Dr. Nguyen was honored as one of Vision Monday's Optometric Business Innovators and in 2015 she was featured in Women of Optometry magazine. She has written articles for Review of Optometry, Contact Lens Spectrum, Review of Optometric Business Online and Review of Cornea and Contact Lens.
Dr. Nguyen volunteers with NSU's Students Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) and has attended mission trips to Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Costa Rica. She advisor to the NSU SVOSH club, the NOPMA private practice club and the Cornea and Contact Lens Club.
