Luis Ramirez, OD, MS graduated from Southwestern University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He earned both his Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science in Physiological Optics and Vision Science from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO), where his master's thesis focused on The role of hyaluronan in the maintenance of progenitor cells in the murine lacrimal gland.
Dr. Ramirez is currently completing a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Houston Eye Institute. His professional interests include specialty contact lens fitting, ocular surface disease, and anterior segment pathology. He aspires to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS).
