Dr. Avani Davé was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to attend the New England College of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry and thereafter, completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens.
While initially starting her career in private practice back home in Toronto, Dr. Davé was recruited by the University at Buffalo's Department of Ophthalmology (Ross Eye Institute) to create a Contact Lens service. Today, Dr. Davé is the Director of the Optometry Service at the Ross Eye Institute. As a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, she is involved with lecturing residents, supervising medical students and acts as a clinical investigator for several research studies. Dr. Davé is also honored to serve as a speaker and consultant for multiple pharmaceutical and contact lens companies.
Dr. Davé is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is also a recipient of the Johnson and Johnson Vision Care Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.
